Pantry

Look! Tidy, well-filled shelves in the new kitchen. Now, if only I could organise my paperwork that easily.

To avoid doing paperwork I do much the same thing. Just why does it never work the other way around?

I can't see much beauty in the last two photos Lesley, window and pantry. They make me think of those hotels like Campanile or Ibis, souless and bland.
Fortunately I know what your house is like so I know the photos are no real witness to the character of the place.
I like a little dirt and mess so please put your children in the next photo!

No, no no Deborah. Lots of soul. Look at the window, the paintwork is faded and flaky and it's military grey because the last owner worked for the army and could get loads of the stuff free. There's history there. Now, the new ones are PVC, that's souless. (but they open and shut like a dream) And if you could smell the pantry you'd like it better: lots of spices and that very brown sugar and some coffee a professor of odontology bought me from his home country, Cameroon.

Confinement
